Description
Photography Manipulation Symmetric Gum Design #9776
As an Artist I often Create Artwork with unusual materials like, “Chewing Gum” For this particular Project I bought 3 packages of Bubble Gum at the Dollar Store. Material Investment: $3.00
I chewed some, I smashed some …and I left some whole.
Then I just basically arranged the bubble gum on a white plate and zoomed in for a good shot.
Then I took that Photograph and manipulated it creating a “Symmetric Design”
My First Fascination with Gum Artwork was done back when I was a little kid. I loved Gum and often got in trouble for pulling it like sticky string, twirling it around my finger and re-pulling it into Abstract Designs.
Yes I was the kid that got gum in my hair too. Thank the Lord My Mom was a Hair Stylist so she could fix it.
I can even remember putting my gum on my bed post to save it for the next day! I know how gross!! My Mom thought it was disgusting too even though she often shared her ABC Gum with me. I didn’t care I just wanted some of that lip smacking goodness!
In 1998 I got a little more serious putting the Gum Artwork on canvas and coating it with a clear sealer.
Some people would look at the Artwork with Fascination and others would be like “Gross” Either way I was always Amused!
So Yes, I save My Chewed Gum and Turn it into Art! ---Smile!
With Love & Bubble Gum Smiles
